Job Description
Position: Nurse Practitioner, HIV Clinic Manager Hours: Day Shift / Full-Time Description: Coordinates operations of the HIV Clinic. In collaboration with the Medical Director, provides medical care to patients (physical exams, ordering tests and lab work, HIV counseling, etc.). Supervises clinical and support staff. Reports directly to the Executive Director for administrative purposes and to the Medical Director for clinical purposes. Education: Graduate of both an accredited school of nursing and an accredited program for Nurse Practitioners. Current NY State Nursing License and Nurse Practitioner Certification. Masters degree preferred. EXPERIENCE:2-3 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Previous experience in working with HIV population is highly desirable. Supervisory experience preferred. GENERAL: Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships among staff, physicians and other medical center personnel. Must possess competent communicative skills, with ability to effectively relate to and work with a wide cross section of individuals, including medical center personnel, HIV/PCC staff, physicians, as well as with patients, families and caregivers and the general public.
